School enrollment jumped last year for Pleasantville High School, which makes for a good year for the school when it comes to state supplemental aid approved by the state. Superintendent Tony Aylsworth said the school looks to receive over $400,000 worth of new money for Pleasantville Schools next year.

He tells KNIA/KRLS News, “I believe Pleasantville’s growth per capita was the second largest in the Heartland AEA this past school year. So our enrollment took a pretty nice jump and I think it’s because we have a really good reputation as a school district and people are looking at their options and are tending to choose Pleasantville.”

Aylsworth has been the school superintendent at Pleasantville for nine years. He tells KNIA/KRLS News that the three percent state supplemental aid which was approved at three percent is the second highest total in the last 14 years.
