Former Marion County Attorney Ed Bull resigned his position effective this past Friday.

Bull was approached by Attorney General Brenna Bird and was offered the opportunity to be the chief of the Health and Human Services Division at the Attorney General’s office, so he will take office there Monday.

Bull has been Marion County Attorney since January of 2011.The Marion County Board of Supervisors made a decision to appoint a replacement instead of holding a special election.

The board decided to appoint a new Marion County Attorney. The board recommended Jared Harmon, currently First Assistant County Attorney, for the position. Harmon is expected to be appointed to the position at the next Marion County Board of Supervisors meeting February 28.
