In the Red Rock Rivalry that renewed in the postseason only in 2023, the Dutch continued their dominance in the series to begin the Class 3A boys substate playoffs Monday over the Panthers.

Pella knocked off Knoxville 88-35, as heard live on both KNIA and KRLS. The home team started the contest with a 10-0 run and stretched that margin to 16 by the end of the first quarter. Finding their footing from that point forward, the Panthers largely maintained that deficit until halftime.

But the Dutch were relentless with a balanced offensive attack and outscored the road team 23-6 in the 3rd quarter, earning continuous clock and ending all competition at that point.

Senior Cam Schulte earned a 15 point, 11 rebound double-double to lead the charge for Pella in his final game playing in his home gym. Cameron Rowe added 11 points and Brayden Traetow scored 10.

Landen Norris and Jack Bertrand each tallied 11 points for the Panthers.

Pella is 13-9 overall and heads to #8 in 3A Waverly-Shell Rock Thursday in the 3A Substate boys semifinals; Knoxville finishes 2023 at 11-10 overall.
