A returning challenge for elementary students this month continues to make an impact on heart health in the community and beyond. Madison Elementary Physical Education Teacher Katie Gravert says all three buildings with K-6 students in the Pella Community School District participated in the American Heart Association’s Kids Heart Challenge fundraiser. Once again, the district topped $30,000 in donations for the effort at Madison, Lincoln, and Jefferson Intermediate. Additionally, students learned about healthy heart habits in their P.E. classes.
