The Simpson softball team split their first two series of the season on the road in Texas over the weekend, falling twice to Hardin-Simmons but sweeping Dallas.

The Storm fell in eight innings to Hardin-Simmons in the first contest 7-6 in extra innings, falling behind 2-0 early, but scoring five unanswered to take a 5-2 lead, only to see the Cowboys score three immediately to tie the score. The Storm scored a run to take the lead in the 8th, but gave up two in the bottom of the inning and took the loss. In game two, the Storm fell behind 5-1 going into the sixth, but scored four to get right back in it and tied the score. The Cowboys immediately scored four runs in the bottom of the inning to secure the win 10-5.

In the second series, the Storm dominated Dallas winning 9-0 and 10-2. Maddie Luderman drove in five runs, Alexis Ehlers totaled five hits, while the Storm offense had 23 hits between the two games. Taryan Barrick-Wessels and Laurel Stice earned the wins in the circle.

The Storm are now 2-2 on the season, and will next play in Florida on March 11th in The Spring Games.
