The Simpson women’s basketball team blew out Dubuque in the American Rivers Conference quarterfinal round at home Tuesday, winning 95-70. The Spartans kept up with the Storm in the first quarter despite 25 points being dropped by Simpson as they led 25-21, but a 35-point explosive outburst in the second quarter put the Storm ahead for good leading 60-37 at the break. The offense slowed for both teams after the break, but the Storm cruised to a win. Simpson shot 13-27 from long range, and forced 24 turnovers. Simpson has now won six in a row, and travel to Loras tomorrow for the semifinal round.
