The Knoxville School Board met in regular session last night.

A summer science club trip to Wisconsin and Michigan and a choir trip to St. Louis were both approved.

There was a discussion about an hourly employee handbook revision. It was approved that hourly employees would receive up to two days of pay for no school days due to inclement weather. 

A proposed Knoxville Education Association and Knoxville Community School District Master Contract agreement was approved through June of 2025 with a few exceptions. A Knoxville Home Schooling Assistance Program revision was approved

The board approved teacher assignments. The Booster Club will be handing over duties for running the concession stand over to the district for the fall and winter.

The board voted to pay a one-time sign-on bonus of up to $4,000 to a new teacher who commits to teach for Knoxville Community School District in a hard-to-fill position for a minimum of two years.

Softball fencing was approved at a total cost of nearly $85,000. 

The board voted to postpone the March 13 school board meeting until March 20. March 13 is during the Knoxville Spring Break.
