A late February burst of rain caused several area rivers and streams to rise late Sunday into Monday morning. Most area rain gauges received between 3/4″ to 1 1/4″ of precipitation in that time frame, including:
Pella (KNIA/KRLS) – .96″
Knoxville – .82″
Indianola – 1.23″
Lake Red Rock – .81″
Outside of a cooldown and chance for light snow late Thursday into Friday, dry and seasonable conditions are in the forecast, according to the National Weather Service, with daytime highs in the 40s and low 50s continuing into next week.
