The Simpson College baseball team fell in all three of their season opening contests over the weekend, falling to St. Norbert 6-5 and 16-7, and to Augustana 7-3. In game one, the Storm had a 5-1 lead going into the bottom of the sixth, but St. Norbert scored three runs to make it a 5-4 contest going into the seventh, where they scored two more to get the walk-off win. The Storm fell behind 10-0 in game two and never recovered, while in game three the Storm had a 3-1 lead only to see five runs being scored against them in the bottom of the eighth and they couldn’t come back. Freshman Ian Baldwin had four hits to lead the team. They will next play March 4th vs St. Olaf.
