The Marion County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday appointing Jared Harmon as the new Marion County Attorney.

A hearing on Iowa Highway 163 Turn Lanes Addition, was approved in front of the business LDJ. The board approved the Award of Construction Contract and Bonds to Cook Construction of Iowa, LLC in the amount of $358,000 for Iowa Highway 163 Turn Lanes Addition. 

Knoxville Fire Chief Cal Wyman led a discussion to establish a Marion County EMS Advisory Committee which was approved by the board.

Tile Line Crossings was approved and Marion County Engineer Tyler Christian presented a Road Department Junction 92 Funding update. Christian will research a few more numbers for options with the project, which could include delaying portions of the construction.

A report on the county treasurer’s FY 2022/2023 Semi-Annual Report was heard. A discussion was also held for Pleasantville Adkins Project Update. The project is forecast to bring 100 to 150 new jobs to Pleasantville when completed.
