The Marion County Humane Society will be holding an event just in time for Easter. The event is titled Egg My Yard. The fundraiser is open for Marion County residents only.

Easter is April 9, the fundraiser is to get 25 filled eggs for $20 or 50 filled eggs for $40. Payment is due by March 31, for more information on ordering the eggs and for payment call 641-828-7387.

Rhonda Douglas is the Vice President of the Marion County Humane Society. She tells KNIA/KRLS News, “We have a couple groups who will help us fill the eggs. Then we go around and we actually hide the eggs and put the eggs out in the yard, so on Sunday morning when the kids get up the Easter Bunny has been there. We have a little thing called the Easter Bunny, one of the board members’ moms is making a cute little Easter Bunny thing we leave and they have a note from the Easter Bunny.” 

Most of the eggs will be filled with candy and some will have a little toy. Funds from the event will go to feed the animals and for medical care.
