Two seniors will depart the Twin Cedars Boys Basketball program, and they were two important players to the squad. Kail Arkema was the Sabers’ point guard while Kasey Clark was usually the post player. Coach Mateo Varese tells KNIA/KRLS Sports both will be sorely missed next season.
Varese: “Kail was by far the leader at point guard, and showing other guys what to do. He was playing post near the end of the season because he could see the floor so well. Kasey will be a big loss because he was our tallest player and right now we don’t have anyone taller than six two.”
Varese says they may go small next season and run at a faster pace. Arkema averaged 9.3 points per game while Clark grabbed a team high 143 rebounds. The Sabers finished 5-16 this season.
