A 23-year-old Knoxville woman was charged with dominion/control of a firearm/offensive weapon by a felon in an incident in Knoxville on March 8.
The woman, who was arrested and booked into the Marion County Jail was identified as Cheyenne Marie Spurgeon-Sparks. The incident report says that officers arrived on the scene and saw multiple people in the front yard. One victim stated that Spurgeon-Sparks drove to the residence and engaged in a verbal altercation that allegedly turned physical.
A fight took place and Spurgeon-Sparks left. Spurgeon-Sparks called dispatch to report an assault at a different address. Officers arrived at the site and made contact with Spurgeon-Sparks. Witnesses say they observed Spurgeon-Sparks retrieve an object that witnesses said was a handgun.
As is the case with anyone charged with a crime they are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
