A winter storm continued to affect the state into the early morning hours Friday, after precipitation fell over much of the state throughout the day Thursday, causing hazardous travel conditions. Commuters this morning should take extra caution as temperatures dropped below freezing after the snow and sleet may have caused ice to form on roads. More wet snow could affect the area tomorrow, leading to a coating of snow during the weekend before temperatures rise over the course of next week.
