HIRTA is the Heart of Iowa Regional Transit Agency that serves seven counties, including Marion and Warren.

Danny Schnathorst, mobility coordinator for HIRTA tells KNIA/KRLS News, “We do have a new HIRTA on Demand App it’s just called HIRTA On Demand, through the apple app store or google play. So, if you have smart phone access you can download that for free.”

Schnathorst added, from there you can either schedule a ride or just hail a ride. Just insert your information and you will get information telling you how far away the bus is. You can book a ride immediately, you can pay through the app, change, cancel or reschedule through the app.

According to Schnathorst he highly recommends people to use the app.  He said it is user friendly and it is available in both English and Spanish.
