Coming off of a conference title and getting several events to the State Meet last season has the Knoxville Boys Track and Field Squad looking at bigger things this spring. Coach Eric Kellar tells KNIA/KRLS Sports they have a lot of speed in their sprints and good distance runners and already looking at the throwers who could be at the top of the South Central Conference.

Kellar: “Luka Dejong is doing soccer and track this year, and he doesn’t have his form down in the disc, and he threw a disc that would have finished 3rd last year in conference the other day, and he’s really fast, he’s almost keeping up with T.J. in some of the workouts.”

The distance races will have Freshman Isaac Rankin, who qualified for the State Cross Country Meet this year, and Kaden McGill, who is coming off shoulder surgery during the winter. The Panthers’ first outdoor meet will be at Pella Christian on March 28th.
