A rural Pella man faces multiple charges of sexual abuse. Travis Albers, 41, was arrested by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and charged with two counts each of lascivious acts with a child – inflicting pain or discomfort, both Class D felonies, and two counts of indecent contact with a child, each an aggravated misdemeanor. According to court records, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation late last year after police learned of statements made by a juvenile claiming that Albers had touched that individual inappropriately. Albers denied the claims to the investigator in November. During a follow up interview with the victim, the juvenile provided further details about the alleged incidents occurring multiple times. Albers was arrested on a warrant on March 6th and has been released on $14,000 bond. A preliminary hearing will be held this Thursday in Marion County District Court.
