The Revenue Estimating Conference has made their report to the Iowa Legislature, revising the estimates for revenue receipts for the current fiscal year and the upcoming fiscal year that begins July 1st. The estimate for the current fiscal year was increased from the December estimate by $135.2 million, for a total of $9,750.4 million. The projected surplus is $1,737.5 million. State Senator Julian Garrett tells KNIA News the State Senate plans on using the same projected amount proposed by Governor Kim Reynolds earlier this year, and he supports that figure, at just over $8.48 billion.
