The Warren County Board of Supervisors will hold the public hearing on FY2024 Proposed Property Tax Levy this evening in a special meeting. The board was met with over a hundred meeting attendees at a previous meeting discussing the budget, after a proposed maximum property tax-levy was published, increasing the rural rate to $3.01 per $1,000 of valuation, up from $1.67. Board Chair Darren Heater said at that meeting the rate was only the maximum amount that could be approved, not the rate the board proposed. The public hearing is tonight in the Indianola High School North Gym at 6pm.
