The Indianola City Council approved a budget amendment at their meeting Monday, carrying funds over to pay for several of the capital projects the city has completed over the last several years. City Manager Ben Reeves tells KNIA News the amendment was cleaning up when some payments should be issued in certain budget years.

“Capital projects span multiple budget years, and sometimes it’s hard to determine exactly how much is going to be in one budget year versus the next. As project schedules get lined out, then we have a better and more accurate picture of when the finances are going to be hit. So this is a budget amendment cleaning up some of the things that didn’t hit in the 2022 budget and are coming now in 2023. So it’s just really kind of carrying over and kind of a clean up housekeeping item.”
