The Indianola Police Department’s new K9 unit is continuing in training. Police Chief Brian Sher tells KNIA News the dog, named Kilo, is half Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd. Officer Trey Nixon was appointed as K9 Officer, and Chief Sher says the department could not be more excited to get the new K9 unit up and running, which will still take several months to be fully deployed. The dog will help with drug enforcement, locating missing persons and suspected criminals, and more.
