A windy and warm day will greet four Pella teams in action this afternoon as the spring sports season starts to fire on all cylinders in south central Iowa.
Starting their outdoor campaign is the Pella boys track and field team, fresh off of what Head Coach Brent Van Hauen describes as their best ever indoor season. The Dutch join the juggernaut-sized schools of Class 4A in Waukee today at 4 p.m.
Pella’s girls golf team is seeking a step up in their own abilities this year, and that starts at Lynnville-Sully. They’ll be joined by the PCM girls at the Diamond Trail Golf Course in Lynnville, with the opening tee shots at 4:15 this afternoon.
Fresh off of a hard-earned win to start the new spring campaign, the #1 in Class 1A Pella boys tennis team is on the road to take on #7 Ballard. The best of 11 competition starts at 4:15 in Huxley.
And the state-runners up in 2023, the Pella boys soccer team has its first varsity competition of the new spring as they head to Winterset. The Dutch and Huskies will start at 5 p.m.
