Marion County Public Health has a program called “Care for Yourself.” Through this program, they provide free or low-cost breast and cervical cancer screenings to qualified women aged from 21 to 64 years of age who are underinsured or not insured and meet income guidelines.   

The 2023 income guidelines are 250% of the Federal Poverty Level, starting at a household with one person having a take home income of $3,038/month.  A household with two to eight people you continue to add $1,071 for each person to confirm qualification.  

If you have Medicaid or Medicare and still qualify for this program, Marion County Public Health can’t pay for services, but they can assist with finding doctors, making appointments, appointment reminders, etc.  If you or anyone you know has questions or would like to speak about this program/enrolling, don’t hesitate to contact and ask for Ashley Buckalew.
