Warren County Medicare volunteers for the Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) are currently recruiting new members to help local seniors sign up for and help solve health insurance issues.
SHIIP volunteer Elodie Opstad tells KNIA News volunteer counselors assist those approaching or already enrolled in Medicare so they make the best decisions for themselves, and the Warren County office at the Indianola Activity Center is in need of more. Opstad said the work is satisfying, and volunteers will be trained to know the intricacies of the complex Medicare enrollment system.
