The Indianola City Council approved the bid for the Hillcrest Ave Reconstruction Project from Vanderpool Construction at their recent meeting for just under $5.1 million, approximately $363,000 below the engineer’s estimate. City Manager Ben Reeves tells KNIA News the project will allow Indianola to expand their industrial park, and he is happy the city is saving money on a bid that was under the estimate and from a local company.
“We are really excited about that. Not only keeping local dollars local, but this project will impact Vanderpool in their very location of where they are situated within our community. So they have a vested interest in making sure the project is done right and done timely. And of course all of that has been estimated, and the project came in over $300,000 under the estimate.”
