For the past seven years, students from Pella Middle School have gathered once per year to support the hungry. In that time frame, more than 160,000 meals have been packaged in the building — and another 23,000 were collected Thursday. Members of the Pella Middle School Student Council apply for a grant from the Pella Community Foundation annually to fund the project, dating back to a tradition started by then-7th grader Hannah Nedder in 2016-17 and that continues each year.
