The Pella Christian boys and girls soccer teams split up Monday, clashing with rival Des Moines Christian.

The Eagle girls host the #1 ranked Lions on Eagle Lane and will look to end the Class 1A top team’s success in recent meetings. Since 2018, Des Moines Christian has won six of the seven contests between the schools, while outscoring Pella Christian 26-6 in that time. The Eagles lone win since 2018 came during the regular season in 2019, when they were victorious 3-2.

Competing at Des Moines Christian, the Pella Christian boys also hope to put an end to the Lions streak of success in the matchup. Des Moines Christian has claimed the last five meetings between the two teams and have won nine of the 12 games in the Varsity Bound era. The Eagles last defeated the Lions in 2016, when they grabbed a pair of 1-0 decisions over their rivals.

Both the Pella Christian boys and girls soccer games Monday begin at 5:30 p.m.
