Pella High School continued its remarkable excellence in jazz by landing the most students of any school on the Jazz Educators of Iowa All-State Bands — news that came down just before Pella Jazz I earned the school’s 20th Class 3A championship last week:

Alto Saxophone – Eli Ebeling, Pella (three-time selection)
Tenor Saxophone – Ryder Bates, Pella (2022 Alternate)
Bari Saxophone – Eli Burrows, Pella
Trumpet – Tyler Mifflin, Pella (three-time selection)
Trombone – Morgan Uitermarkt, Pella (three-time selection)
Bass Trombone – Issac Boualavong, Pella (2022 Alternate)
Bass – Penny Shriver, Pella (three-time selection)
Piano – Grant Anderson, Pella (Class 1A-2A; 2022 Alternate)
Alternate – Bari Sax – Rachel Stratton, Pella
