Five Indianola spring sports teams were in action Tuesday, with girls and boys tennis and soccer in action all against Oskaloosa, with the boys track and field team at Urbandale.

The Indians boys and girls tennis teams dominated Osky, the boys winning 11-0 and the girls 8-3. The boys had wins in singles from Joe Comer, Michael Rothchild, Erik Jensen, Kael Christensen, Nate Winjum, and Justus Woell, while the doubles pairings of Comer/Rothchild, Jensen/Christensen, Winjum/Woell, and Kinnick Werling/Ben Mahlstadt, and Eli Chadwick/Blake Byers.

The Indians girls had singles wins from Audra Dowler, Keely Greubel, Zoey Belt, and Emily Allen, with the doubles teams of Carmen Christensen/Greubel, Dowler/Ceris Askelson, Faith Mahlstadt/Maren Haynes, and Audrey Troutman/Maci Lerseth all winning. The girls will compete Friday against Boone, while the boys will wait until next Tuesday hosting Newton.

The Indians soccer teams were equally dominant against Oskaloosa Tuesday, with a doubleheader on the road, the Indianola girls winning 8-0 and the boys 5-1. The girls took a 1-0 lead at halftime off of a Remy Sivertsen goal, then exploded in the second half with two more from Sivertsen, and Rylee Burns, Anna Brandt, Mia Lerseth, Isabell Crookes, and Brianne Cornell all finding the back of the net.

The boys saw two goals from Eric Schmidt, while Jacob Chickering, Jakob Kjellberg, and Alex Middleswart all scored for the squad. The girls are now 2-1, the boys 2-3, and both teams next compete Thursday.

And the Indians boys track and field team placed fourth at the Gary DouBrava Invitational at Urbandale High School Tuesday, scoring 85 points. Top finishers for the Indians included a first place finish from Bennett Brueck in the High Jump, Logan Piper 2nd in the 100m Hurdles, Andrew DeWall 4th in the 400m Hurdles, Byron Taylor 3rd in the long jump, Shuttle Hurdle Relay 2nd, Distance Medley 5th, 4x400m 2nd, 4×800 3rd, 4×200 4th, and the 4×100 4th. The squad will next compete Saturday.
