Pella Boys Win, Girls 2nd at PC Co-Ed Track and Field Invitational
The Dutch boys and girls had their first chance to race in the Tulip City borders Tuesday, performing well at the Pella Christian Co-Ed Invitational on Eagle Lane. The Dutch boys were victorious with 207 team points, while the girls placed 2nd against one of Class 3A’s state meet favorites in ADM. Top finishers for Pella’s track and field athletes:

Pella Girls Golf Victorious at Home Meet

Pella’s girls golf team team played in a Conference Triangular versus Newton and Oskaloosa on Tuesday night, placing 1st with a 186. Leading scores for the Dutch were: Karsyn Lyons 44 (Medalist), Emerson Lee 45 (Runner-up Medalist), Olivia Hood 48, and Kennedy Van Vark 49. Pella returns to action Monday at home vs. Knoxville, Pleasantville, and PCM.


Pella Boys Golf 2nd After Opening Round of Annual Conference Tournament
The Dutch boys golf team is 2nd after the first of three Little Hawkeye Conference regular season meets, with Tuesday’s held at Edmundson Golf Course in Oskaloosa. Pella’s 323 is 19 strokes shy of clubhouse leader Pella Christian. Pella had three players finish in the top 10 after day one, including Cade McGinley (76 – 2nd place), Cole Floden (81 – 8th place), and Luke Keitges (82 – 9th place). The Dutch Masters two-day invitational awaits the team on Friday and Saturday at Bos Landen and the Pella Country Club respectively.

Dutch Soccer Teams Swept by Ranked DCG Programs
A pair of ranked Mustangs squads were able to topple both Pella soccer teams Tuesday. The #8 in 2A girls fell at home to #1 DCG 3-1, while the boys dropped a 2-1 contest on the road in Grimes.

Abby Warner was able to crack the Dutch scoreboard late on an assist from sister Mia in the 75th minute, and Haley Van Houweling had 18 saves despite a relentless attack from the defending 2A champions. Pella’s girls (2-1 overall, 0-1 in LHC) return to action at Carlisle Thursday.

Pella’s boys fell behind in the 10th minute to the Mustangs, but responded quickly with a Logan Solomon goal assisted by Austin Bone in the 15th minute.
The score remained deadlocked for most of the rest of the game, according to Head Coach Mark Solomon.

“Both sides played equally well, but the Mustangs began to win more opportunities and threaten more late in the game.”

DCG scored the game winning goal in the 68th minute. Pella’s boys fall to 1-2 and are off until they head to the Cedar Rapids Washington invitational Saturday.

Top-Ranked Dutch Boys Tennis Team Falls to 2A-Ranked Marshalltown
A tough test awaited the #1 Pella boys tennis team 24 hours removed from a triangular with DCG and Boone, and #6 in 2A Marshalltown toppled the Dutch 7-4 Tuesday. The Bobcats took the top three singles matches in competitive contests. Cashen Thompson and Ben Van Gorp were able to find singles wins, with the former winning a tiebreaker to do so. Pella’s top doubles duos of Jack Briggs and Joshua Roozeboom and Cameron Rowe with Thompson were able to find victories as well.
