Running in their second meet this week, the Pella Christian boys and girls track and field teams compete at Knoxville’s Panther Relays tonight, while the Eagles girls tennis team hosts Saydel.
The Pella Christian track and field teams hosted the P.C. Invitational Tuesday, and the boys claimed a third-place finish, while the girls finished in fifth place. The Eagle boys were led by three first-place finishes in the meet. Winning events were Isaac Kacmarynski in the 100-meter dash, Luke Nikkel in the long jump, and Trevor Veenstra in the shot put. The Pella Christian girls also won three events Tuesday. Grabbing the first-place finishes were Meredith Van Wyk in the 100-meter dash, Bailey Vos in the 400-meter dash, and the Sprint Medley Relay team of Van Wyk, Amelia Boender, Anna DeBoef and Vos.
Hosting Saydel tonight, the Eagles girls tennis team is also competing for the second time this week. The Pella Christian girls improved to 3-0 this season on Tuesday night, after dominating Newton in a 10-1 win. The Eagles swept singles play and finished off the win by taking four of the five doubles matches.
The Panther Relays at Randy Wilson Track in Knoxville begins at 4:15 p.m. for the Pella Christian track and field teams, while the Eagles girls tennis match against Saydel on Eagle Lane also begins at 4:15 p.m.
