April 16 is recognized as National Healthcare Decisions Day. It’s a day of recognition as a reminder of how important it is to think about what matters most to us and how we would want to live when faced with a serious or sudden illness.
EveryStep and Knoxville Hospital and Clinics are partnering to provide an opportunity to learn more about advance care planning on Monday.
A session will be held Monday from 9 a.m until 1 p.m. at the Knoxville Hospital and Clinics Learning Center. According to Katrina Nelson, Public Relations Coordinator at the hospital there will be special presenters at 9:30 a.m. and at noon. Those attending can come and go as they please.
Mary Jo Romanco, Team Director of Home Care and Hospice tells KNIA/KRLS News, “On Monday EveryStep in collaboration with the Knoxville Hospital is going to host an informational day for National Healthcare Decisions Day.”
At the Monday session you will learn the importance of having a conversation with family and health care providers. How to start the discussion and how to document your decisions before it’s too late.
