The Pleasantville Fine Arts Showcase which is put on by the Pleasantville Fine Arts Boosters are holding an event Saturday at the High School Events Center. Doors open at 5:30 and performances start at 6 p.m..
This event is twofold. Its main purpose is to be a platform for Fine Arts for students to share their talents with members of the community. The night is a showcase of student performances, including instrumental solos and groups, vocal solos and groups, and individual and group speech and drama performances.
There will also be three student artists doing live painting throughout the event. There will be a gallery of student artwork, as well.
Brenda Goodale, Vice President of the event tells KNIA/KRLS News what the event is all about, “The fine arts boosters present an opportunity every spring for our fine arts kids to get on the stage and show their stuff. We will have a variety of performances by band students, there will be some choir soloists and groups, speech and drama kids will have a chance to present their performances, some individuals and groups. The speech and drama kids will have a chance to present their performances. So, some individuals and some group musicals. It’ll be a very good time. It’s also one of our only fundraisers for the year as the Pleasantville Fine Arts Boosters.”
The second part of the event is the fundraising portion of the evening. There are so many items and gift certificates that have been donated by businesses and individuals in Pleasantville and the surrounding communities. There will be a silent auction, a live auction and a face book auction as well.
