Knoxville Community Service Officer Meredith Clark reminds residents in Knoxville of some spring ordinances to abide by in Knoxville.
Clark tells KNIA/KRLS News, “Each year in the spring we like to remind residents just a few of our local codes that people call about often. The biggest thing is about grass and weeds. The cutoff for that is eight inches. We ask that people have their grass and their lawns taken care of before it reaches eight inches or greater. If you don’t get it taken care of the city does come in and do that. There is a fee assessed to the owners.”
Clark adds a few other regulation reminders including burning leaves and small branches are allowed in town as long as you burn on your own property, not in the alley or street and keep a water source close. Lids are required for garbage cans. Trash is never allowed to be burned, it has to be picked up
Dogs are not allowed in city parks or cemeteries. There is a dog park in town that can be used.
