The Pella girls tennis team dominated their Red Rock rivals in a weather-make up Friday at the Joel Tonda Tennis Complex, winning 9-0. Pella Head Coach Josh McCollam:

“Kytilin Plate played in her first career singles match and came away with a 7-5, 6-4 win. Emily Blom dropped the first game in her singles match, but then won 12 consecutive games in singles to win 6-1, 6-0. Claire Smock kept her consecutive games won streak alive with another 6-0, 6-0 victory in singles and 6-0, 6-0 victory in doubles, with Blom. Alloree Else and Lily Van Dusseldorp came away with a 6-3, 6-3 victory at #1 doubles in a back and forth match.”

The Dutch girls are next in action Tuesday at Grinnell.


The Pella boys golf team is hosting its two-day Dutch Masters tournament, featuring some of Iowa’s best Class 2A and 3A teams. Pella is 3rd after day one held at Bos Landen.
