The Simpson baseball team fell to Wartburg in the final game of a three-game series Saturday 4-2 as heard live on KNIAKRLS.com. The Knights struck first scoring a run in the first inning, but the Storm came back to take a 2-1 lead in the third with RBI hits from Brady Held and Lucas Juhl. Wartburg scored another run in the fourth to tie the contest, and neither team would score again in regulation. The Knights took advantage of a bases loaded walk and a sacrifice fly to score two runs in the 10th, and the Storm couldn’t answer. Simpson falls to 13-17 overall and 3-11 in the American Rivers Conference, and wraps up their series with Nebraska Wesleyan on Tuesday with a single contest.
