The Norwalk boys soccer team was defeated 5-1 by Waukee Northwest on Saturday at the West Des Moines Valley Invitational. The Warriors, who topped Ankeny 2-1 on Friday night, finished the tournament with a 1-1 record and are now 2-4 on the season.

The Wolves built a 3-1 halftime lead and added two goals in the second half, improving to 5-1 overall.

Norwalk senior Jack Brown scored his team-leading seventh goal of the year with an assist from Grant Fletcher and attempted the Warriors’ only two shots on goal. Jacob Rueber captured six saves.

The Warrior boys return to action Tuesday night, hosting Little Hawkeye Conference rival Grinnell.

Monday’s Schedule

Three Norwalk spring sports teams are scheduled to compete on Monday. The girls golfers will be at Lakeview Country Club for the Winterset Invitational at 1:00 p.m. and the girls tennis team plays a 4:00 p.m. road dual at Waukee Northwest. The seven-team Norwalk Boys Track Invitational will start at 4:30.
