All seven Norwalk spring sports teams competed on Tuesday, including wins in girls and boys tennis, girls golf, and girls and boys soccer.

GIRLS TENNIS WINS 8-3

The Norwalk girls tennis team improved to 5-0 overall and 3-0 in Little Hawkeye Conference duals with an 8-3 home win over previously unbeaten Pella Christian. The Warriors won five out of six singles matches and went 3-2 in doubles. Their next meet is Thursday at Newton.

Norwalk Singles wins: Kelsey Dammeier (6-4, 6-4); Anya Kallenbach (6-3, 2-6, 11-9); Ava Johnson (6-3, 6-0); Katie Larson (7-5, 6-1); Sami Aagard (6-3, 6-1).

Norwalk Doubles wins: Larson/Grace Dehmer (6-4, 6-2); Katie Thielen/Tessa Livingston (7-6, 6-3); Jina Fraser/Sutton McNelly (6-1, 6-4).

GIRLS GOLF WINS TRIANGULAR

The Norwalk girls golf team won a Little Hawkeye triangular at Beaver Creek Golf Club near Grimes, scoring a 215 to defeat Pella (223) and Dallas Center-Grimes (226). Ruby Hoch placed third overall with a round of 53 to lead the Warriors, who improved to 3-0 in conference play. Grace Chang, Ava Garvey and Allison Soukup all shot 54 and Calissa O’Connor added a 55. The team’s next meet is the Oskaloosa Invite on Thursday.

GIRLS SOCCER WINS 10-0

The Norwalk girls soccer team routed Grinnell 10-0 for their fourth straight win, improving to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in the Little Hawkeye. Junior Addison Burch put three shots in the back of the net for her first hat trick of the season while Braelyn Clark and Karina Garcia added two goals apiece. The Warriors host Ames on Thursday.

GIRLS TRACK AT DC-G

The Norwalk girls track team placed third with 53.5 points at the Dallas Center-Grimes Invite. Kennedy Robbins and Julianna Warren placed one-two in the 200-meter dash, Kate Desmond placed second in the 100-meter hurdles and Elizabeth Iverson took second in the 400 hurdles. The Warriors won the 4×100 and 4×200 relays and placed second in the shuttle hurdle relay. They will be in Indianola for Thursday’s Ron Werling Relays.

BOYS TENNIS WINS 10-1

The Norwalk boys tennis team won at Pella Christian 10-1, improving to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the Little Hawkeye. The Warriors went 5-1 in singles play and 5-0 in doubles – all 10 victories coming in straight sets. They will host Newton on Thursday.

Norwalk Singles wins: Hayden Steele (6-3, 7-6); Adrian Bush (6-0, 6-4); Austin Mills (6-0, 6-3); Kaden Tomkins (6-1, 6-0); Braylon Stockwell (6-0, 6-1).

Norwalk Doubles wins: Bush/Mills (7-5, 6-0); Steele/Stockwell (6-3, 6-2); Tomkins/Drew Chambers (6-1, 7-5); Carson Menke/Tyler Stiegelmeier (6-3, 6-4); Lane Juergens/Drew Lents (6-4-6-4).

BOYS SOCCER WINS 5-0

The Norwalk boys soccer team scored four second-half goals to pull away from Grinnell for a 5-0 home win, improving to 3-4 overall and 2-0 inside the Little Hawkeye Conference. Jack Brown and Teegan Kralik scored two goals each and Drake Stageman added one for the Warriors, who will host Newton on Saturday.

BOYS TRACK AT JOHNSTON

The Norwalk boys track team competed at the Johnston Quad, where no team scores were kept. Braeden Carlson won the 400-meter hurdles and Maddux Borcherding-Johnson took gold in the shot put for the Warriors, who also won the 4×200 and 4×800 relays. The 4×200 quartet of Jacey Hutson, Landon Hochstein, Braeden Carlson and Dillon Ranck clocked a time of 1:31.08, breaking a school record set earlier this season. Norwalk also achieved a season-best time in the shuttle hurdle relay, placing second. The Warriors will compete at the Waukee Relays on Thursday.
