Each spring, students from Pella Christian Grade School elect their own city council, and conduct their own meetings near the end of the school year with help from city officials. On Tuesday, Mayor Don DeWaard and City Clerk Mandy Smith led the group in parliamentary procedure to discuss the topic of dog parks in the community. In addition to the meeting, students met with Pella Police K-9 Ellie and crisis canines Nitro and Walter with Pella Community Ambulance.
