Knoxville Girls Golf 9th At Oskaloosa
The Knoxville Girls Golf Squad played its second 18 hole meet of the season on Thursday and in a day filled with varying weather conditions, the Panthers placed 9th with a team score of 450. Faith Roozeboom tied for 3rd overall with an 88. Other scores were Caelie Smith with a 108, Hayden Hudson scored a 123, Braylee Mason turned in a 131 and Hannah Burkhart scored a 134. Coach Barry Smith told KNIA/KRLS Sports 450 is about their average and considering the weather conditions all day not a bad score. Knoxville is set for another 18 hole meet Monday at Chariton.

Knoxville Tennis Squads Fall To Davis County
It was another tough day on the courts for Knoxville Tennis as the Panthers boys and girls lost to Davis County. The girls were shut out 9-0 while the boys fell 8-1. Henry Picard won the lone match for Knoxville. The girls host their own invitational today at the Joel Tonda Tennis Courts, while the boys are scheduled to play in Atlantic on Saturday.
Knoxville Track And Field Runs At Newton
Sending just a partial team to try to get more events to the Drake Relays, the Knoxville Boys and Girls Track and Field Squads ran at Newton on Thursday. The boys took three individuals as Koby Higginbotham was 7th in the long jump at 19-5, T.J. DeJong was 2nd in the long jump at 21-6.75 inches and Kaiden Smith won the high jump with a mark of 5/10. The girls were represented by Melanie Sullivan and she placed 3rd in the long jump with a leap of 17-3.50 inches. Sullivan tells KNIA/KRLS Sports her offseason work especially during the winter months is starting to play off.
Sullivan: “That was I think the biggest factor in being in the gym and not playing basketball this winter, I got stronger and more flexible and just staying in shape.”
The Panthers will be off until Tuesday when the boys and girls go their separate ways with the boys heading to Eddyville and the girls going to the Chariton meet. That meet will be taking place in Wayne due to construction at Chariton’s track and football stadium.
