Crisis Intervention Services (CIS) is launching its second annual “Raising Hope” online art auction which started April 19 and culminates with a gala on April 26. The events will raise money for survivors and raise awareness of sexual assault, domestic violence and other violent crimes.
CIS Volunteer Coordinator Pat Finan tells KNIA/KRLS News, “We’re excited to offer some amazing art online and then bring together some wonderful people in person. The gala will gather art, music, food and supporters for the final hour of the auction.”
Art lovers started bidding April 19. Nearly 100 items will be available, including original paintings, ceramics, digital art, photographs and quilts. The pieces are donated by local artists and creative folks across the U.S. and Canada.
The gala, which starts at 6 p.m. April 26, will include food, dessert treats, information about CIS’ mission, and a jazz ensemble from William Penn University. CIS team members will assist any guests who need help joining in the bidding, which ends at 7 p.m. The gala concludes at 7:30 p.m.
