The Pella School Board is meeting at the Career Academy of Pella today, in part, due to a tour of the upgraded advanced manufacturing lab. The board will meet with teacher Brent Ewell to receive an overview of the changes that have been made this academic year and what’s next. Ewell was highlighted on Let’s Talk Pella in January discussing the changes.

The board will also review the proposed name for the new Early Childhood Learning Center, which will be the Little Dutch Academy at the Viersen Early Learning Center, if approved. A presentation will be given about Lillie Viersen, which can be seen here. She’s the first Pella Community School District teacher to have been born in the community, and taught for 52 years from 1875-1928.

The board will also authorize the issuance of $11.8 million in general obligation bonds. The Pella School Board meeting begins at 4:30 this afternoon in the Career Academy of Pella, and can be viewed online here.
