Pella Christian Boys Track and Field Takes 2nd at the EBF Rocket Relays
The Pella Christian boys track and field team ran at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont in the Rocket Relays and brought home a 2nd place finish with 124 points.
Finishing in the top three of events in the Rocket Relays for the Eagle boys was:
200 Meter – Isaac Kacmarynski (22.86) – 1st
3200 Meter – Kaden Van Wyngarden (10:26.68) – 1st
4×100 Meter Relay – Peyton Ritzert, Isaac Kacmarynski, Trevor Veenstra, Luke Nikkel (45.24) – 1st

Shot Put – Trevor Veenstra (56’3.75”) – 1st
Sprint Medley Relay – Noah Nunnikhoven, Luke Nikkel, Isaac Kacmarynski, Peyton Ritzert (1:37.36) – 1st
100 Meter – Luke Nikkel (11.59) – 2nd
400 Meter – Peyton Ritzert (53.36) – 2nd
400 Meter Hurdles – Noah Nunnikhoven (1:00.24) – 3rd

Find full results of the EBF Rocket Relays here. Pella Christian’s Trevor Veenstra and the boys and girls 4×100 meter relay teams will compete in the Drake Relays starting Thursday, while the rest of the Eagles track and field teams will be in action at Pella’s Tulip Time Relays on Thursday.
Pella Christian Boys Golf Takes 3rd at the Oskaloosa Invite
The Class 2A #7 ranked Pella Christian boys golf team shot a 314 and took third place at the Oskaloosa Invite on Tuesday.
The Eagles finished behind Class 3A #7 ranked Cedar Rapids Washington (2nd place) and Class 4A #17 ranked Norwalk (1st place). Eliot Menninga placed 5th individually after shooting an 18-hole round of 73. Dane Geetings had the next lowest score for Pella Christian, posting a 79, while Isaiah Breems recorded an 80. Cooper Spronk and Deacon Brandhorst each shot an 82 with Spronk claiming the tiebreaker to round out the scoring for the Eagles.
Up next for the Pella Christian boys golf team is the Knoxville Invitational on Saturday at Pine Knolls Golf Club.

Pella Christian Girls Tennis Sweeps DCG, Boys Tennis also Downs the Mustangs
The Class 1A #9 ranked Pella Christian girls tennis team dominated Dallas Center-Grimes in an 11-0 sweep Tuesday night, and the Eagles boys tennis squad also defeated the Mustangs 9-2.
The Pella Christian girls were in control from start to finish, losing just 15 total games within the match and never lost more than three games in any individual match. Claiming wins in singles and doubles play for the Eagles was Katy Roose, Claire Vander Molen, Sydney Van Arendonk, Laurey Johnson, Rachel Lanferman, and Reagan DeVries. Adding wins in doubles action for Pella Christian was the tandems of Leah Mulder / Elaina Vos and Emily Van Soelen / Ava Breems. With the win, the Eagle girls improved to 7-1 on the season.
Winning nine of the 11 matches, the Pella Christian boys convincingly won seven of the nine matches. Aside from the two losses, the Eagles only close calls came in #3 and #5 doubles, with tiebreaker sets needed. Claiming two wins on the night for Pella Christian were Shaun Bos, Isaac Natelborg, Toby Vander Molen, Aaron Meinders, and Rob Schreur. Adding a doubles win was Rhett Terpstra and Zeb Kanis, while Kirby Van Wyngarden also was a part of a doubles victory. The Eagles improved to 7-3 on the season.
Both teams return to the courts on Thursday at 4:15 p.m. against Grinnell. The Pella Christian girls host the Tigers, while the boys compete at Grinnell.

Eagles Girls Soccer Downs Indianola, Boys Soccer Falls to the Indians
The Pella Christian girls soccer team took care of business against Indianola Tuesday night with a 4-1 win, while the Class 1A #13 ranked Eagles boys soccer team fell to the Indians 6-0.
Teamwork was the dream work for the Pella Christian girls soccer squad, as all four goals were assisted in the win. Seniors Joslyn Terpstra and Jenna Edel combined for all four goals and contributed three of the four assists, while freshman Lexi Terpstra added the other assist. The Eagles led 2-0 at halftime, and extended the lead to 3-0 early in the second half. Indianola cut the deficit back down to 3-1 in the 16th minute of the second half, but Pella Christian pushed the lead back to three with a goal in the 78th minute. Goalkeeper Dani Roose record 9 saves in the win, as the Eagles improved to 5-3-1.
The Pella Christian boys were deadlocked with Indianola at 0-0 through the majority of the first half, before the Indians scored with 30 second remaining before halftime. The score remained 1-0 until midway through the second half, when Indianola scored three goals in a five minute span. The Indians would add two more goals late to drop the Eagles to 2-4.
The Pella Christian boys soccer team will try to bounce back on Thursday at home against Sigourney, while the Eagle girls makes a long road trip Saturday to face Burlington Notre Dame.
