The City of Indianola passed their FY24 budget earlier this month, beginning July 1. Assistant City Manager and Chief Financial Officer Andy Lent tells KNIA News the city was able to keep the tax levy rate flat despite multiple new positions in the city due to capital projects being completed such as the Water Resource Recovery Facility and the major work on the downtown square.

“The key highlights would be the overall levy for the city is staying at $13.55, and we are having a number of new hires including a communications director that will provide more information about what is going on in the city to the general public.”

Lent also said the budget presentation is available on the city website if anyone wants to view it.
