Kindergarten Round Up is May 18 in Knoxville. Two sessions are offered, the morning session is from 8:15 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. The afternoon session is from 12:15 p.m. until 2:45 p.m.

During those times families are invited to bring their incoming kindergartener to West Elementary so they can meet all the kindergarten teachers and have a practice kindergarten experience. Also to have some fun and meet some friends.

Teacher Mandy Vander Linden was asked what she likes about teaching kindergarten. She tells KNIA/KRLS News, “It’s a new day everyday. So, you might have a super rough day one day and the next day it’s full of joy and hugs and smiles. The kids are like sponges; they absorb everything you say. Literally everything.”

There will also be a parent information session to answer questions.
