The Indianola Community Youth Foundation is looking ahead to the rest of 2023, with big plans for new events and celebrating a 10-year run of the Eat Well, Play Well program. ICYF Executive Director Taylor Litchkey tells KNIA News Eat Well, Play Well is a program to have high school students promote healthy eating and participation in sports and other activities. Litckey also said the organization is excited to bring even more fun events to Indianola in 2023.

“In 2023, obviously we want to continue our mission of bringing opportunities to kids and making a difference. We have some after school programs that we are hoping to start up, that we are hoping to partner with community organizations and businesses like TruBank, and we are hopefully going to do a literacy program within the elementary schools this year. It’s also going to be the 10-year anniversary of Eat Well, Play Well in the school year of 2023-24, but ten years is a big achievement so we are hoping for some big things with that this late summer and early fall.”

The Eat Well, Play Well Ambassador Nominees have been announced. IHS students are nominated by activity leaders for showing leadership skills. Each student must be involved in multiple activities, have a 3.0 GPA or higher, and be in good standing with the school’s good conduct code. Find more information below.
