Knoxville Girls Golf Wins First Meet Of The Season

The Knoxville Girls Golf Squad won its first meet of the season as the Panthers prevailed in a home triangular over PCM and Saydel. The Panthers shot a 227 to win by two over the Eagles. Faith Roozeboom was medalist with a 43. Roozeboom tells KNIA/KRLS Sports her game had made improvements all the way around and her confidence is growing each meet.

Roozeboom: “It’s my driver and then that started to go downhill, then I had to use my woods to drive, and my putting has been coming up clutch and that’s what I am most confident about.”

Other scores on the night for the Panthers were Caelie Smith had a 58, Hayden Hudson shot a 60, Iselynn Prevo carded a 66, Braylee Mason fired a 68, and Hannah Burkhart scored a 71. Knoxville Boys Tennis 6th At SCC Championships

The Knoxville Tennis Squad placed 6th at the South Central Conference meet held at the Joel Tonda Tennis Courts on Monday. The Panthers got a 4th place from Konner Leslie in singles. In doubles, the team of Henry Picard and Tyce Huyck lost their 1st round match and then were eliminated from competition in the consolation quarterfinals. Knoxville is back on the courts this Saturday at Ottumwa. In today’s action for Panthers teams, the Boys Golf Squad heads to Atlantic for a meet while the girls tennis squads hosts the South Central Conference at the Joel Tonda Tennis Courts, and the boys and girls soccer squads head to Centerville for a varsity double header.
