Work on the Downtown Indianola Square Reconstruction Project alleys continues, and despite work on the south alley being delayed due to utilities, work on the north alley will continue as scheduled.

City of Indianola Community and Economic Development Director Charlie Dissell tells KNIA News the initial schedule showed the south alley project being completed by the end of June, and it is now projected towards the end of July. Dissell said Mid-American is in the process of engineering work to relocate the lines, after which the physical work is completed the city contractor can begin to repair the alley and parking lot.

Work on the north alley is scheduled to be completed at the end of July. A schedule for work on the west alley has not been determined at this time.
