Knoxville Boys Golf Heads To Gilbert Invitational

A strong field will greet the Knoxville Boys Golf Squad at the Gilbert Invitational at the Ames Golf and Country Club today. The class 3A 6th ranked Panthers will face 3A defending state champion and #3 Gilbert…and 12th ranked North Polk among the nine teams competing. The Panthers have put up some of their best round 18 hole and nine hole meets in recent memory and Coach Barry Smith says…

Smith: “We did that on purpose. We want to play 18 hole meets and competitive golf and a team that will challenge us. I haven’t seen the pairings yet, but I’m assuming there will be a lot of solid pairings, and I’m excited to see what the boys can do up there.”

Other teams joining Knoxville are Ballard, Bondurant-Farrar Boone, Newton, Nevada, and Winterset.

Knoxville Tennis Plays In Ottumwa Today

The Knoxville Boys Tennis Squad will head to Ottumwa for a meet today. The Panthers will play in a different format than a normal Saturday meet as it is a head-to-head quad with Oskaloosa, Maharishi, and the host Bulldogs. Panthers Coach Kevin Wadle tells KNIA/KRLS Sports this format gives all of his guys a chance to play several matches and get more match experience. He adds the players have improved greatly over the season and regardless if they win or lose, they have already had success.

Knoxville Girls Soccer Hosts West Central Valley Today

The Knoxville Girls Soccer Squad will host West Central Valley today at Randy Wilson Track. Currently Hanna Linsley and Janae Baker lead the Panthers in goals with ten each while Ella Breazeale has been solid in goal with 117 saves at a 79% rate.
