Three area schools claimed the top three spots at the Colfax-Mingo Tournament on Friday, as Pella Christian won the meet, PCM finished in second and Pleasantville took third.

The Eagles shot a 320 en route to taking the top spot, marking the fifth time they’ve won a meet this season. Pella Christian was led by Isaiah Breems, who was the meet runner-up with a 78. Eliot Menninga and Deacon Branderhorst finished in third and fifth place individually with an 80 and 81 respectively. Dane Geetings rounded out the team scoring by also posting an 81. Landon Fransman and Cooper Spronk weren’t far behind their teammates, recording an 82 and an 83.

The Mustangs finished three strokes back of the Eagles in the standings with a team score of 323. Easton Van Veen was the meet medalist after posting a 75. Nick Farver had PCM’s second lowest round of the day with an 82, while Grant Van Veen and Jeffery McDanel rounded out the team scoring by each recording an 83. Tate Tangeman posted an 84 at Colfax Golf Course, while Charlie Ford shot a 97.

Finishing in third place with a team score of 334, the Trojans boys golfers were led by Lincoln Card. The freshman shot an 81 and finished in a tie for fourth place. Kayne Brent and Ryder Thill shared Pleasantville’s second lowest round of the day, each posting an 83. Caylor Jones wrapped up the Trojans team scoring with an 87, while Lukas Klootwyk and Jaxx Lovell had a 90 and 91 at Colfax Golf Course.

The Pella Christian boys golf team returns to action with the Little Hawkeye Conference Championship meet at Edmundson Golf Course on Monday. The PCM boys golfers are off until Tuesday when they compete in their Class 2A Sectional at Panorama’s Lake Panorama Golf Course. The Pleasantville boys golf squad next competes on Wednesday in their Class 2A Sectional hosted by Pella Christian at Bos Landen Golf Course.
